High pressure will sit over the eastern United States through tonight. A cold front will move into the area late Saturday through Saturday night, before stalling and holding over the Carolinas through early next week.

Look for chilly overnight temperatures tonight and Saturday and a sunny start to the day Saturday. Scattered showers will be possible late Saturday night so if you have plans outdoors, just keep an umbrella handy. Rain chances increase Sunday through Sunday night at 50% or better statewide from west to east. At this time, the National Weather Service rainfall forecast through Monday morning suggests some areas may receive 1/2 inch of rain especially in Central NC.

Until we receive substantial rain, be extremely careful without door burning and especially with those fire pits. Keep water or other fire suppression close by.
