We’ve asked you to put dates on your calendar for Winter Weather Opportunities so we decided to just give you one!
Using climate data from various long-range models which include ensemble means, deterministic, and control output, we thought it would be cool to show you what dates show “opportunities” for winter weather. The word “opportunity” is used to show where storm systems and cold air are in close enough proximity to call for a closer look as the date approaches.
Snowflake – Opportunity for frozen precipitation. Snow, Sleet Freezing Rain cannot be determined.
Thermometer – Possible cold outbreak. Strength cannot be determined.
This calendar WILL CHANGE and we will ask you to put other events on it from time to time.
Lastly, don’t take this very seriously as we all know NC Weather changes quickly and nothing shown here is set in stone and there are no guarantees that an event shown will occur.
NC Weather Happens. Enjoy it!
